Captured: Petaluma River on video

The Mayor’s Boat Ride on August 5 was a roaring success! Nearly 150 paddlers came out to celebrate our river and watershed, and the joy of paddling as a community.

There is a short video linked from Petaluma 360 capturing some of the day’s festivities. Click here to watch it.

The marsh was also in the news yesterday, August 15, on KPIX Channel 5. Jeff Schaub did an investigative report on the proposed expansion of the Redwood Landfill and its potential impacts on our tidal marshlands. David provided transport in the Mako and was on hand to speak on the potential dangers of expanding so close to San Antonio creek and the marshland. The video can be viewed by clicking here. This will take you to the CBS Video Library page. In the library search box, type in “Landfill Expansion” and a link to the video will come up.

Many kudos and thanks to No Wetlands Landfill Expansion and the Green Coalition for getting this important piece of investigative journalism out into homes across the greater Bay Area.
